Mon & Tue 10/20-21 – Our 3-day Christian Leader’s conference in Bulawayo came to a close on Tuesday. There were 334 pastors and leaders who attended the conference, and it was a joy to serve them in teaching. We are very thankful to EWO church for sponsoring this conference. Each day, the attendees were provided a morning tea break as well as lunch. It was a welcomed refreshment for them to be fed both spiritually and physically.
One morning on the way to the conference, we passed an older gentleman who was wearing a suit while riding a bicycle. Assuming he was heading to the conference, we pulled over and talked with him for a few minutes. We learned that he was riding his bicycle 30 miles one-way to attend the conference. We definitely saw the hunger in these leaders to receive encouragement and training from God’s Word. We praise the Lord for a fruitful time together.
While the conference was taking place, other members of our team participated in school outreach ministry. We had the privilege of entering various public schools, gathering the students together, and sharing with them the message of Jesus for 15 minutes or so. The team did a great job as they took turns addressing the students.
We finished our ministry in Bulawayo around lunchtime on Tuesday, and then headed north to Binga. We stopped for the evening at the Hwange National Park and snapped a few pictures of these animals.
While having breakfast the next morning, a hawk swooped down and stole Jabulani’s breakfast right off his plate! We never thought we would meet a creature who loved bacon more than Jabulani 🙂 We’ll finish the rest of the drive to Binga on Wednesday morning and arrive there sometime before lunch.
