Our friend in Zimbabwe, Pastor Jabulani Mudenda, recently was given a piece of land in Binga, Zimbabwe (pictured above and at left). This property is located in the Matabeleland North province. Jabulani knows of no other orphan care efforts existing in this entire region populated by about 700,000 people.
His desire is to build a transition house on the property where orphans and street children could live temporarily while receiving medical care, life skills training, and attend school. The ultimate goal for these children will be to place them with local families which is the mission of Empty the Orphanage Ministry.
Already, 27 kids are waiting for this place to come into existence. Please join us in prayer about this future opportunity!
“When the Bible says, “Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction” (James 1:27), it implies that Christians with means and strength take initiatives for the weaker. The “visitation” in this text is not for nothing. It is for help — for provision and protection.” John Piper
